Do Charitable Deeds for the Dead Ones Reach Them?
According to the Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jama’ah belief, when the living perform a good deed and dedicate its reward to their deceased loved ones, the reward reaches them. They benefit from it. The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) said: “Whoever has a family member pass away, and their relatives give charity and dedicate the reward, Jibril (a.s.) delivers the reward of that act on plates of light to the deceased. The angel stands at the grave and says: 'O person in the grave, this is a gift from your family or friends, accept it.' The reward of this deed reaches the deceased, and they are happy and receive glad tidings. Those neighbors who did not receive such gifts are saddened.”
“The Prophet (s.a.w.) said: ‘When a believer dies, their deeds are cut off, except for three things: ongoing charity (like a foundation), beneficial knowledge, and a righteous child who prays for them.”

Can You Offer Qurbani for the Late Ones?
Qurbani is one of the important acts of worship in Islam, and it can be offered not only for oneself but also for others. The qurbani donations offered on behalf of our late ones fulfill our responsibility to Allah and strengthen our spiritual connection with our loved ones.
Qurbani is not only a benefit for those living in this world, but also for our deceased in the hereafter. In Islam, offering qurbani on behalf of the deceased ensures that the reward reaches them. Especially, making the orphans, students, and poor families happy and receiving their prayers will be deeds that will be a means of mercy for our deceased loved ones.
Hazrat Amr bin Jerir said: If someone prays for a deceased Muslim brother and performs a good deed, dedicating the reward, an angel takes it and delivers it to the deceased brother, saying, 'This is a gift from your brother.'

What Are the Conditions for Offering Qurbani for the Late Ones?
The conditions for offering qurbani for the late ones (deceased loved ones) are as follows:
Intention (Niyyah): There is no special intention for offering qurbani for the deceased. It is necessary to make the intention of dedicating the reward to the deceased and offering it for the sake of Allah. It has been reported that when done in this way, the deceased will benefit spiritually from the reward of the qurbani.
Suitable Animal for Qurbani: The animal to be sacrificed on behalf of the late ones must, like other qurbani, be from the permissible animals (cow, buffalo, camel, sheep, goat). The animal must also be healthy and meet the conditions for qurbani.
Halal Slaughter: As with all qurbanis, attention must be paid to halal slaughter when performing the qurbani. The qurbani must be slaughtered with “Bismillah and Takbir”, showing that the act is done for Allah’s sake. This is a necessary condition for its acceptance by Allah.

Our father passed away five years ago, and this year, we decided to perform qurbani after seeing it on Instagram. We also had children recite a mevlid for him, and it was very emotional. Thank you qurbanuk, we will continue doing this every year.
