Qurban is an act of worship that has an important place in Islam and symbolises sacrifice and the desire to get closer to Allah. Sacrifice also encourages solidarity, solidarity and sharing within the society. The sacrifices slaughtered on feast days and at other times are delivered to the needy, orphans and especially to those who learn knowledge in the way of Allah, thus ensuring social solidarity.
WHAT IS THE QURBAN OF HEALING? The sacrifice of healing, which is a type of sacrifice, is a special sacrifice slaughtered for the purpose of asking Allah for health, peace and healing. The sacrifice of healing is performed as an expression of trust and submission to Allah, especially in times of illness or difficulty. With this sacrifice, it means that the person requests healing for his health problems or troubles by taking refuge in the name of Shafii of Allah.
In the Medical Prophethood, the Prophet (SAW) encouraged seeking cures for illnesses and recommended taking refuge in Allah and asking Him for healing. The sacrifice of healing is also seen as an act of worship, asking for health and well-being by relying on the mercy of Allah. The Prophet ( SAW) recommended sacrificing sacrifice as one of the most effective ways of trusting in Allah and seeking healing in the face of illnesses.
WHAT TO DO WITH QURBAN MEAT?
It is aimed to distribute the meat of the healing sacrifice to those in need, both to wish healing for oneself and to be instrumental in reaching those in need and receiving prayers. Sacrificing sacrifices with the intention of healing the sick and sharing the meat with the poor, orphans and students of knowledge is also a sign of social solidarity.
MATERIAL AND SPIRITUAL HEALING It is also known that psychological disorders and stress lie at the root of many diseases today. From this point of view, the sacrifice of healing is very important. Because it provides psychological relief to the person. The renewal of trust in Allah, the alleviation of distress and the search for healing through tawakkul creates an atmosphere of peace in the heart of the person. The sacrifice of healing strengthens one's devotion to Allah and gives hope and support to the people around him.
HOW TO INTEND A QURBAN FOR HEALING? Intention is very important in the performance of the sacrifice of healing. Turning to Allah with a sincere intention and sincerity creates the spirit of tawakkul, which is the essence of this worship. The following expressions can be used to intend the healing sacrifice:
‘I sacrifice this qurban with the intention that (name of the patient) will be cured of (name of the disease)’s illness, seeking the consent and intercession of Allah, the Exalted.
'I sacrifice this qurban for the healing of (name of the patient) in honour of the name of Shafii, seeking refuge in the supreme mercy of my Lord.
'As a sign of health and well-being, I sacrifice this qurban for the sake of Allah, with the intention that it will be instrumental in the healing of (name of the patient).
Sacrificed with these intentions, the qurban enables the person to obtain not only physical healing but also spiritual serenity by taking refuge in Allah. Confidence in Allah's mercy and compassion makes a person stronger and more resilient in the face of difficulties.
Today, when medical facilities are highly developed, there are millions of different diseases. It should be known that Allah (swt) is the giver of the cure as well as the diseases. All the work done, the methods used, the medicines and even the sacrifices are nothing but a means to ask Allah for healing. For this reason, when we are in good health, we should endeavour to be grateful and use our bodies entrusted to us in accordance with Allah's will and instructions. When we get sick, we should repair and treat it in accordance with his instructions and the recommendations of our Rasulullah. May Allah bless you with health, well-being and good health.
